Common Questions

How do you approach counseling/consulting?

The Lord is near to those who are discouraged; He saves those who have lost all hope. Psalm 34:18

We approach counseling and consulting that fosters holistic growth and development in the cognitive, emotional, behavioral, relational, and spiritual areas of life. Our approach also supports the worth, dignity, and potential of others, who all are made in the image of God. Individuals are treated with dignity and worth because they are unique and loved by Jesus Christ.

Is counseling/consulting confidential?

In general, the law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and a counselor. Information is not disclosed without written permission. However, there are number of exceptions to this rule. Exceptions include:

Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse. The counselor is required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.

If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s. The counselor must notify the police and inform the intended victim.

If a client intends to harm himself or herself. The counselor will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in insuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, further measures may be taken without their permission in order to ensure their safety.

Do you accept insurance?

Many of our services may be reimbursable.  Please check with your insurance company directly to determine your benefits. We do provide you with a receipt of counseling services (called a Superbill) that you can submit to your insurance.

How does insurance work?

To determine if you have mental health coverage, the first thing you should do is check with your insurance carrier. Check your coverage carefully and find the answers to the following questions:

Do I have mental health benefits?

Do I have to see someone on my insurance panel or can I see a therapist outside of network?

What is my deductible and has it been met?

How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?

How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?

What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

Is approval required from my primary care physician?

You must check with your insurance carrier to see if you can choose your own provider and what your reimbursement for services will be.

You are responsible for full payment at the time of your appointment and will be provided a receipt (Superbill) which you can then submit to your insurance carrier for direct reimbursement.
