If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s. The counselor must notify the police and inform the intended victim.

If a client intends to harm himself or herself. The counselor will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, further measures may be taken without their permission in order to ensure their safety

Regarding insurance, We are able to provide paid invoices for you to submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement, as I don’t work directly with insurance companies. Many of my clients are able to get full to partial reimbursement.

You should contact your provider and ask about your out-of-network benefits. When you call,  ask if your plan covers CPT code 90837 (Individual Therapy) or 90847 (Family Therapy) at $200/60 minutes. I am licensed in Virginia and am in the Alexandria office on Thursdays. (Fairfax office Tues & Weds) – as well as virtual sessions throughout the state.

We also offer clinically informed mental health coaching – in person, in state, and for out-of-state clients. Many insurance providers cover behavioral health coaching (stress management, for example). Talk to your provider about their Whole Health coverage for stress management, that may be reimbursed to you.

Additionally, Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and/or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) are two ways that can help cover counseling expenses through a tax-free account. And utilizing Benevolence Funds is another option. Benevolence Funds are used by faith based organizations/churches and other nonprofits to help those in need. These funds help people of all economic and financial backgrounds get the assistance they need to help pay for counseling. I’m also able to schedule appointments 2-3 weeks apart to help reduce costs.
